Registration for the HRLA Careers Day on 7 October is now open!
Join the Human Rights Lawyers Association at Goldsmiths University for this unmissable event on pursuing a human rights career.
The annual HRLA Careers Day will be held at Goldsmiths, University of London and is primarily aimed at students, prospective lawyers, and those interested in a career in human rights law. A range of sessions have been organised for the day, including:
- A fireside chat with Nani Jansen Reventlow; an award winning human rights lawyer specialised in strategic litigation at the intersection of human rights, social justice and technology and founder of Systemic Justice, an organisation that seeks to radically transform how the law works for communities fighting for racial, social and economic justice;
- A panel session exploring human rights law, which will discuss the ins and outs of working in the different practice areas of human rights.
- A panel session on perspectives from junior human rights lawyers, which will discuss the life and work of human rights lawyers in the early stages of their careers;
- A panel session on alternative careers in human rights, which will discuss non-legal routes into human rights work such as academia, creative arts, and NGO-sector work.
- A panel session on funding a career in human rights law, which will discuss the financial support and options available to those pursuing a career in this field; and
- An invaluable networking session with people who have secured training contracts and pupillage, as well as experienced human rights lawyers.
Lunch will be included and refreshments will be provided during the networking session.
Online tickets are available for those who cannot attend the event in-person.
