Attend: Mindfulness in Law – Mindfulness: Happiness for Lawyers – led by Robert Chender (21 September)

We’re all interested in happiness, but do we know how to attain it? Lawyers traditionally suffer from stress, long hours, and difficult working environments, which lead to difficult emotions in the workplace. Mindfulness practice can help to unwind our reactivity and de-stress, leading to greater happiness and ease in our jobs and in our life generally. We will discuss how we train attention and awareness through mindfulness practice, and learn simple mindfulness techniques which we can utilise during our workdays. Both the American Bar Association and the Law Society as well as LawCare recommend mindfulness as an important technique supporting lawyers’ wellbeing. Beginners and experienced practitioners are welcome.

Robert Chender founded the MILG in 2018 and has been a mindfulness teacher for over 30 years. He practices securities law at Seward & Kissel in New York. He is a non-executive director of the Mindfulness in Law Society (US) and is on the board of advisors of the Mindful Workplace Community, a division of The Mindfulness Initiative.
