The Law Society Competition Section advisory committee is hosting a D&I networking reception hosted by Clifford Chance on 1 November from 5.30pm and supported by the Competition and Markets Authority.
Attracting, nurturing and retaining talent is a key concern across the profession. Competition law is one practice area that has succeeded in attracting a broad demographic of talent in many respects, but there is still work to do.
In March this year, following a public commitment to address the issue of ethnic diversity in the competition practice area, members of the Law Society Competition Section committee coordinated a roundtable for senior leaders to discuss the issue of ethnic diversity across the competition practice area. In June, the Competition Section held a networking reception at our 3rd annual international antitrust conference to enable barristers and solicitors to network and discuss this issue.
This event is an opportunity, in the wake of Black History Month, for the Competition Section and the broader competition community to come together and to celebrate the diversity of the people that work in competition law. Speeches from thought leaders from across the profession, including Sarah Cardell, Chief Executive of the Competition and Markets Authority, will be followed by drinks and opportunities to connect with others.
