Become a Judge: Deputy Judge of the Upper Tribunal, Immigration and Asylum Chamber (London, with some sittings across the UK as required).

The Judicial Appointments Commission have been asked to identify up to 50 candidates to recommend for the post of Deputy Judge of the Upper Tribunal, Immigration and Asylum Chamber (UTIAC). The Upper Tribunal is responsible for handling appeals against decisions made by the First-tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum) relating to visa applications, asylum applications and the right to enter or stay in the UK.

Applications are invited from solicitors and barristers qualified in England and Wales; advocates or solicitors in Scotland; barristers or solicitors in Northern Ireland; and Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives with seven years post qualification legal experience.

Closing date: 1pm on 20 July 2023.
