The National Task Force on Diversity in ADR was established to devise practical strategies to increase the participation of women and minorities in mediation, arbitration and other ADR processes.
The mission of the National Task Force on Diversity is to devise practical strategies to increase the participation and inclusion of women, persons of color, members of the LGBTQ community, persons living with disabilities, and other under-represented groups in mediation, arbitration and other dispute prevention and resolution processes around the world.
In particular, they are committed to focusing on the selection of diverse neutrals by encouraging corporations and law firms to recognise the need for and the benefits of selecting diverse neutrals. The Task Force also coordinates with affinity bar associations on diversity initiatives, and in encouraging more diverse lawyers to consider developing a practice as a neutral. The Task Force has developed a Diversity Commitment, a model diversity, equity & inclusion clause, and, in collaboration with LCLD and FINRA, created a two-year mentoring and apprentice program designed to further the selection of diverse neutrals by the business community.
