About:
The Black Talent Charter strives for equality of opportunity for black talent. Their goal is to ensure the % of black professionals matches UK working population within 10 years, with representation at every level, whilst supporting people to be their authentic self.
They offer practical tools to support businesses and give confidence to top leadership. They constructively challenge and change mindsets in the corporate world, whilst supporting and nurturing black talent to access high earning career opportunities.
The Charter is a cross-organisational, cross-sectoral, collaborative initiative which:
- commits organisations to create and maintain an environment where black talent can be identified, developed and promoted for the benefit of individuals, the organisation and the wider sectors and economy;
- commits firms to support the recruitment of black employees and their development and progression into senior roles by focusing on the entire executive pipeline;
- recognises that organisations will have different starting points – each must be free to determine and implement the strategy that is right for them; and
- in order to support the transparency and accountability needed to drive change, requires organisations to report on the steps they have taken to create and maintain an environment for the identification, development and promotion of black talent, and on the progress to deliver against their targets.
