About The 93% Club
The 93% Club is the first and largest network of state-educated university students. The 93% Club was founded at the University of Bristol in 2016 and has since expanded to become the UK’s largest social mobility network for students across 35+ universities.
The data on education inequality is both eye-opening and overwhelming.
This is because privately schooled students, despite representing just 7% of the secondary school population, account for 74% of judges, 61% of Fellows of the Royal College of Physicians and over 50% of Cabinet members. The 93% Club aims to redress this gap by giving university students from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds the opportunity to participate in workshops, seminars, social events and activities that are geared towards equipping them with the necessary skills to become serious competitors in the job market.
Students can find out more about events, the different university clubs (and how to start a club if you are at a university that has not already set up a club) and resources on their website and social media channels.
Schools/Sixth Forms can also ask for support from the 93% club.
93% Professionals
Professionals and Apprentices can also become members of 93% Professionals. This new network will provide a supportive community for state educated people as they enter and progress in the professional world. Using a pay-it-forward model, members can invest in their professional growth and provide opportunities for future state educated talent. The network will operate both online and in-person to facilitate the active networking and mentorship required to accelerate the progression and deliver professional success for state educated people. If you can’t afford the membership – you can also apply for a subsidised membership. Firms can also sign up to offer corporate membership.
