Linklaters lawyers could be financially rewarded for diversity work

Linklaters lawyers could get bigger bonuses for helping the magic circle firm to become more diverse and inclusive. The magic circle firm announced that it is introducing ‘billable credit and recognition’ for contributions to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) under a new global policy following the policy’s success in US offices.

Depending on the office location, up to 100 hours of DEI contributions will be considered as chargeable time or taken into account as part of overall bonus assessments. This means that employees who contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts at Linklaters may be eligible for additional bonus pay or recognition based on the amount of time and effort they put into these initiatives. Activities that may be considered as relevant DEI contributions for bonus purposes include mentoring, sponsoring, and engagement in external diversity networks. The goal of this policy is to recognise the value of diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, and to encourage further engagement with these priorities within the firm.
