Law.com International reports that Slaughter and May has launched a U.K. scholarship scheme to help fund the studies of undergraduates from less advantaged backgrounds interested in a career in law. The programme is designed to support diverse students hoping to study law and to improve the social mobility and racial diversity in the junior ranks of the industry.
Slaughters has committed to fund three cohorts of 10 students per year, for three years of university study. The bursary will equate to £3,000 per student per year, representing a £270,000 investment over five years from the firm.
