It is almost Black History Month… what are you doing to celebrate? Need some ideas of what you can do in your workplace to celebrate Black History Month this year.
Here are some suggestions:
- Celebrate Black Women by having them speak at an event or by sharing videos or inspirational black women.
- Celebrate your Black talent by showcasing your Black employees.
- Create conversation for employees by hosting a panel event.
- Educate your employees by sharing information about Black history.
- Choose a book written by a black author for your next book club event (or hold a special one for black history month) or share reading recommendations.
- Educate your employees by hosting a lunch and learn (and include food from black-owned businesses).
- Black Heritage or History Walk.
- Support a Black Owned Charity that supports the Black community.
- Remind everyone of your internal initiatives and what your staff network, D&I/HR teams have been working on and launch any new initiatives (and identify new ones).
