In their fifth Pay Gap Report Allen & Overy have expanded their data on ethnicity, LGBTQ+ and disability, alongside the gender pay gap reporting.

Its overall mean gender pay gap in 2021 was 59%, a slight decrease from 60% in 2020. Its overall median gender pay gap stood at 41%, just less than 46% in 2020. Meanwhile, its London mean gender pay gap was 13%, a decrease from 16% in 2020, and its median pay gap was 28%, having slightly narrowed from 29% the previous year.

The proportion of women going into the partner promotion process has increased – this year 33% of new partners promoted globally were women and in 2020 it was 45%. Overall in London, this means that the proportion of women partners has risen to 25% (as of 1 May 2021) – up from 22% in 2020.
