Bullying

Bullying is not defined in the Equality Act 2010. However, the dictionary definition is:

the behaviour of a person who hurts or frightens someone smaller or less powerful, often forcing that person to do something they do not want to do.

The SRA considers “Bullying” to be either a regular pattern of behaviour or a one-off incident that happens face to face or remotely. Bullying is an unwanted behaviour that is:

  • offensive, intimidating, malicious or insulting or
  • an abuse or misuse of power that undermines, humiliates or causes physical or emotional harm to someone.
